Montserrat Valdez

Montserrat is a sustainable finance specialist with a strong background in climate strategy, capital raising, and stakeholder engagement. As a member of the Harvard Alumni for Climate and the Environment and the Harvard Club of the United Kingdom, I lead engagement among HACE members in London, bringing the community together to connect, exchange ideas, and build meaningful relationships.

Prior to this, at GDF's Private Wealth business, I worked closely with family offices and high-net-worth investors to grow and protect their private wealth through climate solutions. With a focus on mobilising high-impact capital into clean energy investments that deliver long-term returns, provide strategic tax benefits, and accelerate the energy transition.

As a sustainability consultant, I advised institutional investors in decarbonising their investment and lending portfolios to align with the goals of the Paris Agreement. I also collaborated closely with leading financial institutions to assess, manage, and disclose climate-related risks and opportunities. I currently serve as a subject matter expert in sustainable finance and climate change for the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
